As an organization dedicated to the welfare and upliftment of the visually impaired, we aspire to achieve numerous impactful goals. Terre des Hommes Germany has been one such invaluable partner, playing a pivotal role in helping us provide top-tier co-curricular training to 170 visually impaired girls studying at the NFBM Jagriti School for Blind Girls. This meaningful five-year partnership has enabled our students to learn the German language and engage in complex sports like table tennis. As a result of this collaboration, many of our talented students have not only participated in competitive sports but have also successfully cleared challenging German language examinations. The timely guidance and supportive approach of Terre des Hommes Germany have been the cornerstones of our enduring relationship, empowering us to create new opportunities for our students. MGVS and TDH have built a strong, productive partnership over the past seven years, especially in our joint efforts to improve health and education for women and children in migrant sugarcane worker communities. Terres des Hommes helped me personally, as well as our organization Centre for Women and Girls, to turn our vision of fostering child rights into meaningful action. Along our journey, we deepened our perspectives to think not just about child protection but also child empowerment. Capacity building programs helped us create joyful and safe spaces for children to articulate themselves; listening to these expressions not just validates our work but gives it meaning. We ourselves learn from the children. The work with Children Clubs during the ongoing conflict in Manipur, made possible thanks to support from TDH, counted as critical psychosocial intervention for the children. At the same time, it also helped our conflict-affected team to cope with our own losses. We look forward to further refine our interventions to help children create a more peaceful as well as a greener future, tapping into support from TDH as well as its broader network.
The association of Lake gardens Women and Children Development Centre (LGWCDC) and TdH-GIP and goes a long way. 23 years back we had first approached TdH Germany to fund our activities and since then their funding support and guidance has enabled us to empower many underprivileged children, youth and women through awareness, education, health care and vocational training services. Currently we are working together to mobilize Youths to take climate actions for environmental protection in the States of West Bengal. Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. We are indebted to TdH GIP for their cooperation and support.
